Document Data Solutions (DDS) utilizes state of the art technology to provide the highest level of integrity solutions to the industry. Since there are many differences between businesses, DDS provides custom solutions utilizing our advanced technology to satisfy our customer’s unique requirements. Whether you want to read a numeric OCR string, 1D or 2D barcode, IMB or OMR, let DDS design a custom application to meet your needs.
DDS’ barcode solutions use Omni-directional laser beam light hand held or fixed mounted scanners. Barcode scanners will only read linear barcodes such as 1D (2 of 5 or 3 of 9) or data matrix 2D barcodes and will send the data serially. Hand held scanners are primarily used for hand scanning applications such as fulfillment or repair stations were speed is not the primary requirement. Some hand held barcode scanners can also capture images much like a camera.
Higher speed applications require the use of fixed mount barcode scanners and are used in production applications for input scanning, output scanning verification, piece matching or for read & print applications. Fixed mount barcode scanners cannot capture images and will decode the 1D or 2D barcode and send the serial data back to our controller.
Integrated with DDS’ iDataScan™ state of the art software, the USB camera technology can be utilized depending on your application requirements. A great entry level solution for sequence checking, two way matching and read & print on your mailing inserter. The USB can be configured for end of process output scanning on your finishing equipment. added output integrity to help ensure there are no missing pieces or doubles.
The built in lighting illuminates the piece to give a clear snap shot which allows the vision software to ensure each piece has been seen as expected. The advanced USB camera removes the necessity for video capture boards within the controller.
DDS’ iDataScan™ with Area scan camera solution, uses different camera technologies depending on your requirements. An area scan camera is use for applications that only have a single point of interest being scanned, for example a sequence number, logo or a single barcode.
Primarily we utilize either USB monochrome cameras with built in lighting or GigE network cameras with detached lighting and are available in both color and monochrome. GigE network cameras provide a more robust solution and faster data transfer rates for your requirements. The USB and GigE cameras remove the necessity for video capture boards within the controller. GigE cameras have the necessary intelligence built in to the body and allows a greater number of cameraa solution. The color GigE camera allows us to verify that a specific color is present or filter out a color to read a symbology. Depending on your specific requirements, we typically use 640 x 480, 1024 x 768 or 1400 x 1200 cameras.
DDS’ iDataScan™ with line scan camera solution is designed to look at multiple regions of interest in a single pass and can look at an entire envelope or document depending on the camera. The GigE network cameras are available in color or monochrome and provide a more robust solution and faster data transfer rates for your scanning requirements. The line scan camera is typically used in output scanning applications where you want the ability to read multiple areas on a document or envelope where a single area scan camera could not see. Other applications such as reading documents on continuous roll printers or web press is also available. The color GigE camera allows us to verify that a specific color is present or filter out a color to read a symbology. Depending on your specific requirements, we typically use 2K or 4K cameras.
DDS’ iDataRepair™ software added to our iDataScan™ solutions is designed to notify the operator of processing errors such as missing or duplicate pieces or jobs. Additionally it will also notify the operator of any pieces that need to be pulled from processing because of special handling requirements. Reports of current or past jobs can be created within the user interface and printed or saved as PDF files and sent to anyone. The reports detail total processing time, description of manually handled items, missing, duplicate, pulled and items requiring reprint. iDataRepair™ can be installed to run locally on each iDataScan™ system or by adding DDS’ Central Server, can be networked together with all iDataScan™ systems.
